Rabbit Run Theater 2020 Auditions

Out of concern for the health of those auditioning for a 2020 Rabbit Run Theater production, auditions are temporarily postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  We are currently considering rescheduling auditions at some point in mid to late April. 

Those of you who have already scheduled an audition appointment will receive (or may have already received) a call concerning rescheduling your appointment.  When new audition dates are set, we will reach out again to reschedule audition appointments.

Kiss Me Kate
Production dates: May 29, 30, 31, June 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13

Roles available:  There are multiple roles available for men and women, ages 15 and up.

Leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham, battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew”.  With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, “Kiss Me Kate” combines the humor and brilliancy of Cole Porter and William Shakespeare.

Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery

Get your deerstalker cap on — the play’s afoot! From the award-winning mastermind of mayhem, Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor), comes a fast-paced comedy about everyone’s favorite detective solving his most notorious case. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must crack the mystery of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" before a family curse dooms its newest heir.

The Young Adult Production, Disney’s Newsies, the Musical 
Production dates:  July 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 (matinee & evening)

Roles available:  There are multiple roles available, male and female, ages 12 through 21.

“Newsies” follows the tale of charismatic newsboy Jack Kelly as he and his fellow newsies rally to clash with New York City’s titans of publishing to fight for their rights.  Set at the turn-of-the century and inspired by a true story, “Newsies” is packed with dance numbers and a family-friendly message.

Titanic, The Musical 
is an account of the first and last days of this ship of dreams.  With music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and story and book by Peter Stone, “Titanic, The Musical” is told through some of the real life characters involved in the tragedy.

Always . . . Patsy Cline

Roles available:  Two roles are available for females, ages 25 and up

Always . . . Patsy Cline was originally created and directed by Ted Swindley.  This play with music is a tribute to this legendary country singer and is based on the true story of Patsy’s friendship with a fan from Houston.  The show features many of Patsy’s greatest hits including “Crazy”, “I Fall to Pieces” and “Sweet Dreams” among others.

Please note:

Actors auditioning for a musical should prepare to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style song from memory. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist in a binder. No pre-recorded accompaniment or CD tracks. No monologue need be prepared as actors will read sides from the script.  Actors should dress for movement  (no sweatpants).

All auditions are at Rabbit Run Community Arts Association, 49 Park St., Madison, OH.  Auditions are by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment call RRCAA at 440-428-5913.  For more information visit

Video auditions will be accepted for those who are not able to make the regular audition dates.  A video audition should include a vocal audition with 16 measures of a Broadway-style song with piano accompaniment.

Video submissions should be sent to and must be received by March 20th.  

Rabbit Run Theater is one of the few barn theaters remaining in Ohio and is open every summer from the beginning of June through the beginning of September.  The theater is located at 5648 W. Chapel Rd., Madison.
