DRAMA THROUGH STORYTELLING (Ages 3 - 5)

This is an interactive storytelling class where the children will be able to act out the stories using narration, mime, percussion, and simple props. Parents are welcome to stay and participate!
Supplies needed: Simple percussion instruments, props, simple costume pieces, books.
FRIDAY 1:30 – 2:00 pm

AUDITION! (Ages 6 - 17)

“What should I do?” “What should I wear?” “What if I blow it?” “HELP!!!” Do these thoughts cross your mind before an audition? It does in the minds of most actors. In this class you will learn what goes on in an audition, how to choose appropriate monologues and songs, and how to show a director your very best!

AUDITIONING 101 (Ages 16 - Adult)

Do you get nervous when you audition? Do you struggle to come up with the proper audition piece? Do you feel confused as to what directors are expecting from you when you audition? Designed for adults and older teens, Auditioning 101 will give you the tools you need to fully communicate your own strengths and gifts when auditioning for plays and/or musicals. Participants are asked to bring two monologues and, if interested in musical theater, two songs they would typically bring to an audition. Participants are also asked to familiarize themselves with the characters from Kaufman and Hart’s You Can’t Take It With You prior to the class.

DRAMA THROUGH STORYTELLING (Ages 6-11)

CREATING CHARACTERS YOU CAN BELIEVE IN (Ages 12-17)

This class will take students further along the road to acting by exploring characterization –“getting into the character’s head”, studying body movement, etc. We will take characters from well-known plays as well as “normal folk”. Previous drama classes a plus, but not required.
