Rabbit Run Theater and Lake Erie College open the 2016-17 Studio Series: Extraordinary Circumstances season with the comedy “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike”.
Written by Christopher Durang and winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play, “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” opens Friday, Oct. 14, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 23.
Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home in Bucks County, PA, where they bemoan their comfortable but lackluster lot in life. Their almost-over-the-hill, movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in unannounced with her new boy toy, Spike. Old resentments flare up when Masha threatens to sell the house out from under them. But all is not lost in this comedic mash-up, equal parts Chekhov and laugh-out-loud humor.
Tickets will also be available at the door or online.
